Yesterday the hp_kinkfest exploded all over my flist with opening prompting. :D I'm so excited! I haven't prompted yet, because while I have an idea of what I want (thigh!Sex aka Intercrural!sex, Pottercest, top!Charlie, bottom!Teddy, hung!Harry) I'm not sure how to turn any of that into a prompt. Maybe this is the year I'm just going to "watch", but that already sounds kinky, so it's not so bad.

Does it ever happen to you, that you don't know what to prompt even though you're dying to? It's happened to me with so many fests, it's ridiculous, and of course, just after prompting closes I do come up with prompts, which is crazy. Lol

Back from my vacations. And good grief!

The first couple of days of vacations weren't so bad, but then I got this Fiebre Intestinal, and I had fever for five days, unable to keep anything in my stomach, with high fever and the last three days I couldn't eat anything at all. I lost four kilos.

I arrived back here and went straight to the hospital for an IV and proper diagnosis, now I'm in treatment and finally home, getting better, very slowly, but at least no fever.

I'm glad that's over. Now I'm slowly, very, very slowly catching up (with fest, flist, etc.) while I'm not resting, but at least the fever and the shaking and body ache is mostly gone.

I hope everybody had it better this week. <3

I am so excited about hd_remix, it starts posting tomorrow. I love this fest. It's awesome. It's like fics and art come with a rec! I can't tell you how much I've been looking forward to these fests.

Only I'm going to miss the first week of both of them because I'm going on away on Saturday for almost ten days. To Mexico! Which also makes me excited, though it's sort of crazy, really, because there I am on holiday, at the beach, drinking a mojito but in the back of my mind I'm always thinking about the lovely fic and art I'm missing. Lol

I still have to pack. Man, I hate packing. I'm terrible at it, too. I never finish. I sort of give up. I just close the bag with whatever shit I put in there, usually stuff I'm not going to use because "omg, I haven't wore this in YEARS, of course I'm going to use now that I'm on vacations, lets pick the most useless stuff in my closet, yay," or ~something.

But I won't complain just yet, I'll do that when I'm buying over-priced stuff at the gift shop. >.

My Notes: This story is lovely. It has such a beautiful characterisation of Charlie, he's this gentle, sensitive man, in love with his work, with his Dragons, and when a badly wounded, wild dragon is found, he makes a connection with it, with him. Who turns to be Draco, having escaped an attack from Diagon Alley, and turned into his animagus form but is unable to turn back. And Draco, he's lovely written as well, he's learned from his mistakes, he's paying for what he did, he only needs a chance to prove himself. A lovely read.

Title: Four Times Charlie Had Authority Over Draco and One Time He Didn't by snegurochka_lee

Pairing: Charlie/Draco
Word Count: 8,500 Approx.
Summary: It started the week after the final battle, in a Ministry holding cell with a fake Auror and a suspect who was used to doing as he was told.
My Notes: This fic has a completely different characterisation of both Draco and Charlie, and they're awesome, too, because Draco, Malfoy here, is bratty and petulant with such an attitude, but Charlie is exactly the sort of man that will teach him his place, in the yummiest way, too. There's sexual tension by the bucketload. But once their relationship develops, it's a thing of beauty. And so, so hot. :D

I have a new layout.

It's all eidheann_writes's fault, really. She's been tapping her foot, saying dooooo iiiiittttt, she even threatened to withhold very important updates! She's a scary lady, you know, and I love her to bits. <3

The layout! (Because you're like, dying to hear me talk about layouts, I know. >.<)

I like it. I mean, I'm not sure about the dark background; I like the pattern but I haven't found it in a lighter tone, though I do love the colour scheme on the whole, the fonts and the header. I really love this header. ^^ And on that note: thank you to lovely iwao who helped me decide the colour for the header and tweak the quote. She took my layout/header making seriously enough to give me feedback! :D

I made a different one with a sidebar, but I found it kind of overwhelming after not having used one for so long, but the main problem is I still need to clean up the links there and add a few and. Meh. I'm very anal about little details. See: pain in the patella, is what I am.

But yeah. *chews lip*

I am so excited about the Mpreg Fest this year. I'm always excited about it, but this year I'm helping to mod it with eidheann_writes & kitty_fic.

I know a lot of you are already fans of Mpreg, but I also know there are just as many that aren't into it, and while I'd never pressure anyone into reading something they wouldn't enjoy, I'd like to take a moment and try and make you consider mpreg as something you could potentially enjoy.

The thing is, there's so much more to mpreg stories than the just pregnancy. It has so much potential for angst, fluff, drama and humour; for family oriented stories, for the unexpected and for lovely characterisations.

It's one of my favourite genres. And, you know, I never saw it coming either. I used think I'd never read Mpreg. I had this idea that friends don't let friends read mpreg, but then there was one story that completely changed my mind.

And that's why I honestly think that sometimes you just have to try something new and discover how much fun you can have playing in one of the most amazing sandboxes in fandom. Maybe you just have to find that story that will lure you in and help you discover a whole new way to have fun with this trope.

I mean, just think of the possibilities! Sometimes the boys don't know they can get pregnant, sometimes they are trying to get pregnant, sometimes they are scared of being pregnant, sometimes they are tricked into getting pregnant (by potions, spells, curses), sometimes they are confused about what's happening, sometimes they are already pregnant and it's an adventure to see them going through it, sometimes the baby is there and there are so much feelings, and of course, all the pregnancy idiosyncrasies to explore! So much fun to be had!

I just want to take a moment to think about this year. It was a wonderful year. There were ups and downs, but I'm choosing to remember the good.

I made amazing friends, forged beautiful friendships that I know will last and grow to be old, was incredibly blessed with shows of affection and I just know in the future I'm going to look back at 2013 and will smile, and it's thanks to all of you.

You're a wonderful flist to have and the best fandom to be part of.

Oh, my god, you suck so bad. You should be working in the porn industry because you so suck so hard. Like, hanging around glory holes or something because you suck suck suck.

I've made you, what? How many layouts I've made you? You lost count, haven't you? I know I've lost count. I've lost count how many headers I've made you, also!

And then when I finally thought I made you a layout you liked, you got obsessed with a tiny, minuscule little thing that no one was going to notice, but that's all you could see. I was at it for weeks and when I finally fixed that teeny, ridiculous detail, it turned you didn't like the layout so hot in the end.

So that's it. That is it, buddy! I'm not making you any more layouts. You'll be stuck with that blue Magic layout forever.

A young couple crashed into my Christmas tree.

I only saw them briefly this morning, they were bickering about whose fault was it that they were so off course and how they ended up there.

I was able to take a picture of them before they disappeared. They just did! Vanished into thin air, but they left a message for you before doing so:

I've noticed there are very few comments in fests this season. Is it because there are too many fests? I don't think so. I think there is a space for everybody, and each community have their own fanbase.

I can't say for sure though. Last year I only followed hd_holidays and kept my eye on mini_fest and daily_deviant's Kinky Kristmas.

But this year I'm following hd_erised, hd_owlpost, mini_fest, hp_darkarts's In The Shadow of the Season, hd_smoochfest's Holiday Kisses, and daily_deviant's Kinky Kristmas.

And in all these there's very little people commenting.

What's wrong? Where is everybody?

I imagine this is extremely discouraging for writers and artists that lived and breathe their pieces for weeks and even months to get so little response, it must be heart-breaking.

I know that writers write for themselves, when they have a story to tell, and in exchanges in particular they are writing specially for someone, but there's no denying they write for all of us, too.

We're all part of fandom, I think it's time to show our appreciation, it's always the right time, but specially this season, when so much is given, gifted for us to enjoy.

Whether you are a writer, a reader, an artist, a mod, take that extra moment to let someone know you enjoyed their work.

At times I feel very silly for wanting for people to celebrate fanworks, but, you know, it's not silly at all. Comments, feedback and recs are a vital part. They matter, too, which means every reader out there, every single person who comments is a voice saying Thank You for sharing your work.

And this weekend is the perfect opportunity to do it. writcraft has a Comment-A-Thon this weekend to catch up on fests. So if you're behind or what to start, this a great way to begin.
