I also don't care that much about Jon Snow, but I NEED to know! I just hope that they won't go too far from the books.

I'm one of them. I like(d??!!) Jon Snow just fine. So yeah, being curious is my default state in GoT at the moment. ^^

But there are so many answers yet to find, and not enough time in one hour. They're going to pick a plotline and go with that, I'm sure. And we're going to be still curious about everything else for at least half a season. XD

I haven't read the books, but as far as I know, they've already deviated from them, no? Like, kind of a different story? I have no idea. ^^

Sure. I think that they're going to pick just some plotlines for this first episode. (There are far too many characters)

It's different from the books, yes. Especially the whole Sansa's storyline, it's nothing like the books. But so far there's still a certain respect of the most important plot points (Such as Jon Snow being stabbed, the walk of shame ...) I'm just so curious and it would be kinda disappointing to basically watch an AU on tv.

I knew the Jon Snow thing was from the books, but I didn't know about the rest of them. I guess this is in part why I enjoy it so much? Because I don't have any expectations outside what the show offers? Sometimes when you know the material you build bigger expectations that aren't always met. ^^

Idk what to think or want or...well, anything. Basically, whatever they do, I'm up for the ride - and whatever makes me sad means I'll read and write tons of fix-it fic *lol*

What makes me a bit sad is that I'm not writing quick enough, so the fic I'm writing for the trailer will probably be AU as of tonight - when I hoped it might not be for a day or two at least, lol xD But then, almost everything people write for GoT/ASoIaF is AU, because nobody wants to write all the canon misery.

*lol* Who knows! Maybe it won't be AU. I mean, maybe they won't start with the plotline you're working on? Of course, I have no idea what your fic is about so--!!!

But yeah, I can see how everything is AU, who could stick with all that canon change? XD

I'm not sure what I think of Theon, mostly because I remember who he was and what he did and then I'm reminded all he's been through, conflicting emotions for sure. I think for the last couple of seasons, probably, I've felt something like compassion. It's complicated, as you can imagine.

I understand, yes. He is a difficult character to like - for most people, that is. Being me, of course I loved him the moment I realised what was happening in Season 2. I mean, his conflict is so, so understandable and obvious for me xD He was taken from Pyke when he was (in the show) eight years old, he spent the next nine years at Winterfell, and he's just no clue who he really is and who is family is. And Balon's and Yara's reaction is so horribly disappointing - nobody needs him at home, nobody's waiting for him. (In fact - and my favourite writer had to point this out to me - they were preparing for a war even BEFORE he came, although he was still the hostage of the Starks. Meaning: they didn't give a shit whether he lived or died.) He always imagined he'd come home eventually and inherit - now he has to realise nope, Balon has an heir, and nobody likes or trusts him, all the values he learnt during the last nine formative years of his life are regarded as rubbish here, and he needs to somehow fit in and impress Balon.

So he does something incredibly idiotic - and realises quite early on how idiotic that was. You know how I'm all for the characters who make horrible mistakes and then end up terribly tragic ;) They're complex and the best candidates for h/c.

That's very, very much how I feel about him, too! You have to give that to him, he realised very soon the mistake he made and gods, how he paid. *nods*

This is my way to enjoy the show. :D When I watched the first few seasons I couldn't believe they were killing off so many of my favourite characters, now I'm like... OK, bring it. And then we'll see. :)

Well, I wasn't disappointed! :D On the contrary, loved everything.

The TV series is ahead of the books now - I just finished the last book (that's been published so far) and the vast majority of it has been seen in s5. But GRRM has said that the TV version of the story will not be the same as the books that have yet to appear - there are necessary differences due to keeping some characters alive/dead and changing others (e.g. in the books it's not Sansa who Theon rescues, it's a minor character who's not in the TV series).

Ahh, yes. That makes sense. I know people are waiting for a new book for ages? This is stuff I pick up here and there though. ^^

i'm still not done w/ first season, LOL

I started watching around season 3 and then I watched the first and second and all of it in a single week, I think. It really hijacked my life. ^^

Yes! Exactly! I get to the end of the season of Walking Dead, take a gasp of air, and throw myself into GoT. My heart! It can't take all this suspense!!!

Oh! The Walking Dead, that's another that has me in suspence! At least I've my nephew to spam about in RL. :D
