I changed the layout of my_drarry_recs.

I really love the art I have as a header. It's Autumn by chouette_e @ deviantart (used with permission). And it's gorgeous.

I'm trying it out, because there are a few things I still need to tweak here and there, but I like it. What do you think? :)

I'm very fond of the the old one, and I'm not sure which is best for the comm, so I'd love to hear what you think.

Don't let the warnings turn you off or make you think it's story might be too hardcore; it is in a way, but it's not so much about the actions (punishment and discipline), but about how Harry and Scorpius feel about Domination and submission. It's about them as a couple, as Dom/sub, their reactions, and it's incredible; it's erotic, to see Scorpius needs and Harry's desires fulfilled this way. The way they give each other exactly what the other need. And this is the beginning of such relationship, so everything is new; exciting and thrilling, and absolutely brilliant. It's not an overwhelming sort of story at all, but rather the sort of story that leaves you craving for more.

This is the sort of story that makes me what to read new pairings. One that (shockingly) I haven't read much of is Draco/Albus. Anyone have recs for this pairing for me? Not necessarily BDSM fics, just anything that you'd recommend. I'd love to read some.

My Notes: I almost passed this story because I saw it was Draco/Hermione, but I'm so glad I didn't, because it isn't a romantic story by any stretch of the imagination, there's nothing romantic or sexual about the way Hermione and Draco interact. It can be easily read as Gen. This story has such an great premise I don't even know how to describe it. It's not that it's confusing, it's just complex to summarise in a few words (see the prompt at the post). And it's absolutely chilling. You shouldn't pass this fic! In fact, I dare you to start reading it.

Notes: I absolutely loved the Alpha/Beta dynamic in this story, how their wolf senses and needs play such an important role in the plot. It's sexy and touching. I loved Bill's characterisation here, Draco, too, but Bill's was delicious.

Title: Our Horses Will Not Be Toys by writcraft

Pairing: James Potter/Lily Potter/Sirius Black

Summary: When we grow up we’ll both be soldiers, and our horses will not be toys, and I wonder if we’ll remember, when we were two little boys? - A friendship spun out over the years becomes something more when three old friends meet in a safe place to reminisce about the past at the peak of the war.
Notes: I don't read a lot of Marauder's Era fics, but loved this story because it has such a familiar sense of the idea I have of them, you know? Fics like this made them real in my mind, not just people who died for Harry. I loved the interactions between them, particularly between James and Sirius, their friendly bickering and joking, but with all this tension underneath, and Lily in between, in more ways than one. It's lovely and fun, even if a little bit bittersweet because you know what the future holds for them. Brilliant story.

Title: Everybody Loves Teddy or at AO3 by tryslora
Rating: NC 17
Pairing: Harry/Draco, Harry/Neville (unrequited), Harry/Teddy/Draco
Word Count: 9,600 Approx.
Summary: When Teddy becomes an Auror, he is absolutely certain that he will be partnered with his godfather and long-time crush. Add in a case that threatens the life of both Harry and Neville, and a new, highly dangerous illegal plant, and Teddy’s life quickly becomes more complicated than he could ever have expected.
Notes: I think this is my favourite [adult] Teddy!Fic. His characterisation is lovely. Don't let the title confuse you, this is not a slutty!Teddy story at all. Teddy here is confident though inexperienced, his emotions are real, the complexity of the emotions of each these characters feel so real. The sex is erotic and loaded with feelings. Read it and fall in love with Teddy. And Harry. And Draco. And Neville. <3

And a video. This was recced at HP Dark Arts a while back, way before the fest, so some of you might have missed, and you have to watch it. The edition is gorgeous, and the music is incredible. You're going to have that tune in your mind for ages, in a very good way!

Tomorrow there's a census here in Bolivia, I'll be interviewing 40 families about their way of living.

I hope none of these houses homes a Psycho Killer. My dad is Most Concerned. I didn't think of it until the boyfriend pointed out it's a valid concern. Yeah. It's valid all right. I was very excited about being a census agent and be part of this, now I'm still excited, but a little bit afraid.


And speaking of scary thoughts, I've been catching up with the hp_darkfest.

The hp_darkfest is one of the very few fests in which I enjoy, and actively look for, het as the main pairing. (Yes, I'm utterly corrupted by slash. Proudly!) And this is one that I liked:

What I liked so about this story is that you read the flashbacks, and under any other circumstances you'd think it's so very sweet and smile and wish all good things for Harry, and then reality hits you and it's just horrifying, which, what with it being a Dark Fest, I think it is the point. This fic is very twisted! And not extremely graphic, not that there's anything wrong with that, I'm just saying. ^^

Anyway, I enjoyed it. I thought maybe some of you might, too.
