LJ sucks and recs.

I've been forced to disable the costume comment pages because LJ is being a huge pain in the bum and I can't see my comments. *sobs* So yeah, old, regular comments' page for me. And it feels so weird. It's like my comments page is in its underwear or something. :/

But in better news, recs!

hp_goldenage finished posting last week and it's been such an awesome fest. If you missed it the wrap ups are here: week 1 and week 2.

Here are some of my favourites. Only some, but do check all the entries because it's been wonderful.

Prompt: How does the magical world care for its elderly, especially when the elderly decide they can no longer effectively live on their own.
My notes: This was such a lovely read. It's Minerva retiring from Hogwarts and moving to an elderly home where many of her fellow co workers already live. This is her starting over there, seeing life in a new, different way. And it's truly lovely.

Growing Old Disgracefully by writcraft | Minerva/Wilhelmina Grubbly-Plank | R | 2,8
Summary: Minerva is entertained by the conversations she overhears when her students think she’s too far away to hear them chatting.
My notes: This was so, so awesome. It's timed in the trio era 8th year and this is Minerva listening to them talking about her and how they see her. But it's far more than that, too. This is a different side of her, a sweet, gentle and even romantic and playful side of her with Will beside her. Wonderful.

Loving You Could Be So Easy by shocolate | Harry/Ron | PG-13 | 5,2K
Summary: Harry has travelled the world for 30 years, and finally comes home. Someone unexpected is waiting for him.
My notes: OH my god! You have to read this. You have to! It's so absolutely wonderful. This is Harry coming back home after living away 30 years, learning what's been of Ron after a kiss all that time ago, and it's so achingly beautiful and familiar because even after 30 years it's them and they are older and perfect. And yes, please do read it. Fantastic stuff.

Dinner With Friends by sdkshelly | Pansy/Ginny, Harry/Draco | NC-17 | 1,1K
Summary: When dinner is delayed, no one ends up minding too much.
My notes: This is such a steamy little story, in which, well, Harry and Draco are supposed to meet for dinner with Pansy and Ginny only the Floo is locked and they get distracted and by the time Pansy and Ginny are ~free, well! Fun and hot and awesome.

My notes: LOVE! It's Professor McGonagall and Madam Pomfrey at the beach!!!!!!!! And they look so, so dashing and wonderful. Perfect.

Oh my god. This is terrible! My comments' page is NAKED! :O

It's a problem some styles are having, not all of them, so only a portion of the users are having this problem. :(

Yeah, I noticed -- because my LJ uses a similar style so I went there to check (besides, I checked my comms, just in case and they're all working). Still, this is a bit shit, frankly. You don't even get the old options while commenting on the standard comment page; I sure hope it gets fixed :(

Okay, it's not so bad. I'm just used to costume comment pages. They are fancy. ^^ I hope they fix it soon. I asked LJ support and there's nothing I can do, they have to fix the LJ code they changed when they made the latest update in the general design. :((

anemonen was saying she couldn't read her comments either. :( I've had no problems... Do we have the same layout? *doesn't know >.<

I would *LOVE* to go to Leviosa, but I know I'm not going to be able to. Maybe if there's another a few years later, but 2016 I don't think is doable. :(

We use the same base (Flexible Squares) but different code. I checked your journal, it's OK. Same with many others including erised, mpreg, and most comms I've made. But my code is one of the ones affected, and I asked and they said they are working to fix whatever affected these codes but yeah, in the meantime either change styles (which I'm considering because I feel naked like this lol) or disable the costume pages until they fix it. :(((

*nods* Yeah. 2016 feels doable to me, but there are things I need to work out before saying yes for sure. I'd love to though, and will try to make it happen.

This feels like old-school Lj!! *iz nostaligic* I remember when almost all comment pages looked like this. Mine are working but I've noticed a lot of people complaining about this same problem. :/

I've had the Leviosa IndieGoGo page open since yesterday 'cause that Slash Bundle is awesome!!

You're so right! I remember when all comments pages looked like this. And you know what? I also remember not being all that crazy about costume pages back then. :D Changing to S2 was a big step for me. lol Now I'm used and this feels ~naked. ^^

Those Slash Packs are going to be the death of me. So, so pretty. ^^

A few days ago the preview option was greyed out for me. It got fixed over night though. But I've read people having all sorts of issues with the new design at

news. I contacted LJ Support and they said they are working on it, but at the same time told me I could switch my layout style for the time being so I'm not sure how fast a solution is coming. No official word from all the problems users have been having.

I had problems with a firefox update and lj last week. It suddenly looked like a page from the early 90ies and was as slow. But it sucks even more when one can't fix it on their own.

Yeah, I've been having issues here and there, but nothing as big as this, and they usually got fixed overnight -- these might take a while. Been checking regularly but nothing. *sighs*

I've had no problem with comments, but as soon as I go to post to a community, it freezes for a second and then goes to the first community I have posting access to, instead of the one I actually want. So annoying.

If only I could go to Leviosa. I'm not even in the same country, not to mention I'm poor as fuck. I live vicariously through updates about it.

Ah, Leviosa. ^^ Normally it wouldn't be possible for me either. I live in South America, but with over a year or planning it might be possible. Otherwise, we're in the same boat. Living it through people's posts. ^^
