This is not something that is supposed to occur in pure-blood families or something that is talked about. Outward he must act like the perfect Malfoy heir. Unable to tell his secret to anyone he retreats into solitude and gets increasingly lonely and depressed. And it perfect, because it shows all these emotions in Draco, the pressure he feels about who he must be, his loneliness, and finally, that acceptance, that hopeful gaze that speaks of being accepted just as he is. It's gorgeous and so touching.

Notes: This is such a fantastic story. It has such an amazing characterisation of Neville, it's brilliant. It's placed in that terrible seventh year at Hogwarts, then the Carrows were in charge, and aside from all the horrible things happening, there's something else haunting Neville. But I'm telling you, it's one of the best Neville Fics I've ever read. God, it's amazing. Read it, you're going to love it.
