Happy Weekend! <3
Parselprostates, "blackmail", dark ally sex and strippers. Ladies and gentlemen, [livejournal.com profile] dracotops_harry started posting! :D

You really shouldn't miss it. There are some crazy prompts out there and they are being filled in the most exquisite manner.

[livejournal.com profile] hd_remix V.0 posted their reveals and awesome Master List yesterday. I didn't do too badly in the guessing poll, [livejournal.com profile] birdsofshore and I got tied in second place, and really, some reveals were surprising, but others, man, I should have known! :D

[livejournal.com profile] hd_hurtfest is posting today their anonymous master list. I can't wait to see all the fics together. This fest hurts so good! You still have time to catch up while it's anonymous, reveals are on April 18th.

You know, adding the authors to [livejournal.com profile] my_drarry_recs while two more anonymous fest are posting is hard. I always try to be very careful, but if you have a spare moment to check, I'd really appreciate it. ^_^

And in the best news I've got lately, Skyehawke is back! YES. I'm happy. Loki is happy, too!

oh yes_ loki

I was so happy when I saw the archive back. I went to the main site, then to the fics. ALL THERE. *happy dance*

You should go to the hurtfest and browse. There's yummy angst for everybody. ^^

The main site still isn't up for me, but it will be by the end of the day, I'm sure! The only good part of it being down was that I found some of the fics on AO3, so now I have a backup place for them.

Yeah, same here. I found them and changed the links and others saved. *nods* But I thought many would be lost to new readers and made me so sad. Good news!

Urgh. I just went on Skyehawke earlier and it worked, but no it's not showing up again for me. Hopefully the internet will get it's shit together now.

And it would be horrible if the new readers couldn't access the stuff. Think of it...not Jennavere!

So odd, it's showing fine for me all this time, even the main page, and every fic I've tried, all showing. Maybe it's a browser problem? :/ I hope it's fixed for you soon.

Yes, it would be such a loss to miss so much fic that is only archived there, specially the older stuff, which are classics, really.

Now it's working for me, too! :)

I didn't know skyehawke existed until I followed capitu's rec links. It's quite a frustrating archive, I find, because it's so difficult to download anything to my kindle. They don't have the nifty 'entire work' option of AO3 and when I finally, chapter by chapter, transfer them all to my kindle, they all show up with the same title so I spend absolute ages opening every single one of them to see if it's chapter 2 or chapter 15...

By the way, is there a reason authors aren't transferring their archives to AO3? I know it took me ages to get around to it, partly fuelled by just not getting round to it and it's so bloody fiddly, partly by an initial reluctance and wariness (now completely overcome). But just wondering if there's a special loyalty to old archives or some other reason...? *curious*

As far as I know, there's nothing of the sort of loyalty to an archive. Some authors might feel more comfortable with one archive than other; that could be a reason.

What I think might be though, is that many of the fics at skyehawke are from authors who are not longer active in fandom, so they aren't as invested in their fics and maybe unwilling to go through the whole ordeal of moving all their stuff to a new home. Some authors have done so even though they have left fandom, and I truly appreciate it, because, like you, I just love the option of downloading the entire work to my e-reader. I love AO3, to be honest, and that's one of the many reasons. :)

But for other authors is a slow process. More and more people are loading their stuff there though. Almost all fests upload longer (and shorter) stories directly there, but, of course, there's the possibility that once in a while an author just doesn't like AO3 and decides to host their work someplace else.

Oh, over here in this post, the archive owner says that in the future there's going to be the option to download stories, if the author grants permission. Hopefully that will happen and many authors will be on board. :)
