What's up with these odd quiz results I keep getting?
I don't know what the problem is. And I'm concerned because this is SIRIUS BUSINESS!

I fill them to the best of my ability and consciously, but then I get these weird results and I start wondering if I filled them honestly.

Because, apparently:

I am a Ravenclaw.

Your result for The Sorting Hat: A Comprehensive Harry Potter Personality Assessment [Test/Quiz]...

Ravenclaw

58% Ravenclaw, 40% Hufflepuff, 51% Slytherin and 49% Gryffindor!

Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw,
if you've a ready mind,
Where those of wit and learning,
Will always find their kind;

The cardinal traits of Ravenclaw are intellect, wit and openness to experience. They are the most introverted house of the four. Ravenclaws are more likely to prefer small gatherings of like-minded individuals and require recooperation after stressful social interaction. These individuals are intuitive creatures, the quintessential researchers. They lack the stubborn, strict, and rule-abiding qualities that would inhibit intellectual growth—one can't be too set in their ways if they are to be open to exploring new ideas and paths of thought. In contrast to Slytherin and Gryffindor, Ravenclaws in general are much more emotionally stable. Their reactions seem dampened compared to the sometimes dramatic responses of the other houses—they're much less likely to get offended, they're more open to criticism, not particularly argumentative and interested in hearing different points of view. They can at times seem to be less interested in people and more interested in their own inner world, and appear to be disconnected from the rest of humanity.

Ambition is secondary to them. Although they may strive to excel in school, knowledge and self-enrichment is the primary goal as opposed to simply wanting good marks. If they do happen to strive for excellence, it is because it fits with their other goals, not out of a desire to be superior or the best. Due to their intuitiveness and willingness to listen, Ravenclaws can be empathetic and make good advisors. They should generally leave leadership roles to people who are more extraverted and who would enjoy them more, however.

I feel no association with this house. It's the only house I don't even have an icon for. And it's not that I don't like it. It's a fine house. It's a great house. Luna's there, how much more awesome can they get?

I just don't feel like I'd belong there.

I've always thought I'm a Hufflepuff. PuffPride! <3
And then there's Gryffindor. I wouldn't mind being a Gryffindor. :D
And then there's Slytherin. They have Draco. Of course, I'm in. ;)

But Ravenclaw? blinks

But the shock of getting Ravenclaw was nothing compared to the one I got when I did the 'what HP character are you most like'.

That's when I got Snape.

Your result for The Remarkably Thorough Harry Potter Character Test...

Severus Snape

"The Dark Arts are many, varied, ever-changing and eternal. Fighting them is like fighting a many-headed monster, which, each time a neck is severed, sprouts a head even fiercer and cleverer than before. You are fighting that which is unfixed, mutating, indestructible."

You are Severus Snape, the Potions Master and eventual Headmaster of Hogwarts. Professor Snape is cold, calm, and calculating. He prefers to roam the world alone and unloved, for the only woman he ever loved married another. His bitterness stems from Lily’s rejection, and the fact that he couldn’t save her from Voldemort adds to his endless grief. Not to mention she married his worst enemy - talk about a slap in the face! As a spy, he is the ultimate dark protagonist, much like Batman or Beatrix Kiddo. It is impossible to deduce what he is feeling or thinking because he rarely ever reacts to situations. You are similar to Snape in the sense that you are both angry individuals. You tend to hide from people rather than embrace them in friendship, and you do not tolerate being talked down to or belittled. What people don’t know, however, is that you are merely wearing a mask. The hard shell that surrounds you is there only to cover the anguish you feel on a day-to-day basis. Secretly, you are a lover, but the pain of life has condemned you to a cynical perspective. I suggest that you take a long hard look at what's really bothering you, and do whatever you can to heal yourself. Whether that means taking a vacation, going skydiving, playing video games, calling up some friends to go see a movie, it's up to you. Do what makes you happy, and don't let the world get you down!

In short, you are more:

Cautious than impulsive
Mature than immature
Arrogant than modest
Normal than weird
Introverted than extroverted

Your polar opposites are Fred and George Weasley.

Another big, huge wtf.

I thought I'd get someone like Luna, and I know, it's odd considering how little association I feel with her house, but still.

Or Neville. Maybe even Remus. I don't know, someone, you know, nice. But Snape? Really? I'm a Ravenclaw Snape? Heh. Meh.

Obviously I'm filling these all wrong. I mean, hopefully.

Maybe I fill them thinking that's how I should be, or how I think people see me, or maybe I think I'm filling them honestly when I'm really going Eeny, meeny, miny, moe in my head.

The only quiz result I ever got and I could see was when I took this crazy "What number are you?" Quiz and I got a big "You Are Number 1!" And I admit I was peeved when they congratulated me for having everything to be forever alone. Meep.

Do you get crazy, weird results, too? Surely I'm not alone on this one. ^^

LOL! Welcome to the smart house! Lots of geeks and nerds around!

I think I'd rather be like Snape than who I got. I ended up most like Remus Lupin. Ugh! Now I have nothing against the sweet man, but I never aspired to be like him. So if I can't dazzle with my brilliance, I will apparently bore you to death.
capitu[personal profile] capitu on September 3rd, 2013 08:59 pm (UTC)
I feel better already! <3

It's just that these were such random results for me. I'm still blinking at them. I feel I was a mad-clicker picking and answers or something. lol

I wonder who got Voldemort. :D
http://notearchiver.livejournal.com/[identity profile] notearchiver.livejournal.com on September 3rd, 2013 09:07 pm (UTC)
You're so lucky that you got Severus. I got Tom Riddle/Lord Voldemort. Serious?
Cato: voldie allegiance[personal profile] lordhellebore on September 3rd, 2013 09:12 pm (UTC)
I'd love that answer. Though I get Snape almost always, so that's neat too.
http://notearchiver.livejournal.com/[identity profile] notearchiver.livejournal.com on September 3rd, 2013 09:13 pm (UTC)
We could switch. *looks hopeful*

I do think that Tom Riddle should be a different answer than Lord Voldemort, though.

I got Moody. :) I have an inkling why, though.

You must have clicked that you don't animals. That is bound to get you Snape. ;)

Did you do the Sorting Hat from Pottermore?
capitu[personal profile] capitu on September 3rd, 2013 09:23 pm (UTC)
I clicked that I liked animals. I remember that one because, well, I do! :D So no, that's not it.

I'm not into Pottermore. *is a loser* LOL No, I haven't sign up for pottermore yet. I keep meaning to, but then the fever passed and now I'd be soo behind. But I know I eventually will. :)

Moody's so cool! :D
vaysh: Hufflepuff_bloodstain[personal profile] vaysh on September 3rd, 2013 09:27 pm (UTC)
Oddly, I clicked that I love animals, and still got Moody. Somehow he doesn't strike me as the animal-loving guy, but there you are.

I got Hufflepuff repeatedly at Pottermore, so i resigned myself to the fact that at least "officially" I must be a Hufflepuff. The Pottermore Sorting Test is different. You should try it one day.
capitu: puffs stick together [hufflepuff][personal profile] capitu on September 3rd, 2013 09:42 pm (UTC)
Maybe he likes animals a la Hagrid? ^^

I will. I wonder what I'd get there. What house did you think you'd get? Or liked, rather?
vaysh: Slytherin Symbol[personal profile] vaysh on September 4th, 2013 08:55 am (UTC)
It would be interesting to explore in fic/art how Snape feels about animals ... ;)

I am a Slytherin. Everybody who knows me in RL will tell you so. ;) But I resigned myself to being a PM Hufflepuff. It must be my love for Tolkien. The Hufflepuff Common Room is a smial. :D
capitu[personal profile] capitu on September 4th, 2013 11:52 am (UTC)
I've read very little fiction featuring Snape as more than a secondary character, so I barely have an educated headcanon, but suddenly I'm craving for some. :)

In RL everybody will tell you I'm a Hufflepuff, and I agree. :D I'm happy with my house, so I want to take the pottermore test and gain confidence in the knowledge.

I can live with that.

[identity profile] shocolate.livejournal.com on September 3rd, 2013 09:59 pm (UTC)
It's very perfect.

I never used to get Hermione - I must be growing up...

My little Luna! ♥

My little Snuna? WHAT??

I love how they list Snape as being more "normal" than "weird." Clearly there is some sort of glitch in the test. :/

capitu: capitu/tjwritter OTP 4EVER[personal profile] capitu on September 4th, 2013 11:11 am (UTC)
LOL! You're right, Snape is more normal than weird, which is just WEIRD because he's, well, he's Snape! :P

I appreciate Snape as a character, with his qualities and flaws, I just can't see myself as Snapey, you know?
[identity profile] fantasyfiend09.livejournal.com on September 4th, 2013 01:02 am (UTC)
I got Molly Weasley again. I can sort of see it, but my first reaction was o.O
I'd done it last year and got Molly as well. So that quiz is pretty sure of where they'd put me. *shrugs*

I guess no one had better touch my kids. *evil eye*
capitu[personal profile] capitu on September 4th, 2013 11:13 am (UTC)
LOL! I am glad I'm not the only one getting weird results. :D

I took it twice and I got Snape both times so... um. I don't what to think about it too much.

Molly's cool! <3 You have one of the best lines in the whole series!
[identity profile] fantasyfiend09.livejournal.com on September 5th, 2013 02:16 am (UTC)
Well I have to remember that just because the quiz has a long and official sounding name doesn't mean it's actually correct.

Molly does get an awesome line, but it takes 7 books to get there! I like Molly, but I did often get frustrated with her babying the Trio and Ginny.
capitu[personal profile] capitu on September 5th, 2013 11:43 am (UTC)
Well I have to remember that just because the quiz has a long and official sounding name doesn't mean it's actually correct.

Exactly, and just because the way we think about ourselves aren't exactly like the character we got it doesn't always mean we're nothing like them, yeah?

And of course, there's the whole headcanon factor. I've always loved Molly, and I think she can be overbearing (though I've read so much fanfic I'm not sure if that's real) but I mostly remember how much he cares for everybody, you know? What a big heart she has and how protective of her loved ones she is. And yeah, she is a badass. :D
[identity profile] fantasyfiend09.livejournal.com on September 5th, 2013 02:14 pm (UTC)
Well I am the type to just up and adopt some poor orphan I met at the train station, so I suspect there is some truth in it. ;)

[identity profile] dannyfranx.livejournal.com on September 4th, 2013 06:59 am (UTC)
Yeah but the truth is that the real sorting hat would have taken your preferences into account. It wasn't like your results were all over the place either, they were all in the 40's and 50's, I think if you identify as a puff, then a puff you are! (I have no idea about Snape however, maybe he was a hufflepuff inside)
capitu[personal profile] capitu on September 4th, 2013 11:17 am (UTC)
Yeah, I think the hat would. I would have a conversation with it before he decides. I'd definitely end up in Hufflepuff or Slytherin. The idea of waking up every day in a tower is one I can entertain without sweating cold. Snape, he could have a Puff side, surely! People are complex. :D

[identity profile] dannyfranx.livejournal.com on September 4th, 2013 11:38 am (UTC)
I actually almost made myself late for work this morning, because I decided that I wanted to do the house test. I've already been sorted into Gryffindor for Pottermore, but I wanted confirmation and thankfully I got it. I am certain that the sorting hat would put you in Hufflepuff; I'm sure that you would have a lovely conversation though I think that if you wanted be a Hufflepuff though it would be unlikely to put you in Slytherin.
capitu[personal profile] capitu on September 4th, 2013 11:58 am (UTC)
Go Gryffindor! And it is such a great house. Not just because of Harry, but the friendship and bravery the members show shines in the books.

I am such a Hufflepuff that when I read a story and they tease a character for being Hufflepuff I just shake my head and smile fondly. :)
dragontara[personal profile] dragontara on September 4th, 2013 07:10 am (UTC)
Hello there, house mate! I'm also Ravenclaw, at least according to Pottermore Sorting Hat. I never thought of having much qualities for Ravenclaw, I thought I might be more like Hufflepuff or Gryffindor.

Then again, when I took the quiz at HelloQuizzy, I suddenly was Gellert Grindelwald and so Slytherin that my teeth ached. How weird is that? And I swear, I answered all the questions as honestly as I could.

I guess that there are so many sides in us, that the quizzes or Sorting Hat doesn't really have a clue where to put us. I think it's great, having so many opportunities and possibilities at hand :)
capitu[personal profile] capitu on September 4th, 2013 11:21 am (UTC)
Well, hello there! We could be dormmates! I haven't done the Pottermore sorting. I'm really curious about what it'd say.

It's funny getting odd results. I took these and I sat looking at them wondering what the heck did I answer to what to get them. Lol

I suppose they run with a group of specific answers instead of others, you know? The stuff I think about myself most are not the ones I associate with these results but it doesn't mean I'm nothing like them either. I dunno. It's all fun though. The WTF! Factor included. :D

I got Bellatrix Lestrange. *cries* Can I just assume that they enjoy giving us the weirdest characters first and having us cringe and sob over them? Whyyy...

I think I preferred this one based on the Meyers Briggs Personality Test better.

And I agree, these one seem much more friendly. Snape? Bella? Who are we!? XD

Yeah Ravenclaw isn't really flashy or interesting or anything in canon outside of Luna. My husband is a Ravenclaw though and I find him flashy and interesting.

Snape. He's a bad ass. It's not a bad character to be. I got Slughorn and I very unimpressed.
capitu[personal profile] capitu on September 10th, 2013 06:55 pm (UTC)
I think there was a flow of people wanting to be Ravenclaw after we discovered that instead of a password you had to think your way into the common room. :D Which, yeah, it IS pretty neat. But I never felt assosiation with the house. Not sure what it says about me. :D

And yeah, Snape is popular in my flist! I just want whaa? When I got him. Slughorn now, hmmm. Are you more weird than normal? XD
[identity profile] gryffindorj.livejournal.com on September 10th, 2013 07:10 pm (UTC)
My husband and nephew, both Ravenclaws, thought that was the coolest thing ever and I was underwhelmed by it. But I did like how adeptly a Gryffindor, McGonagall, answered the question.

I am more normal than weird. Though as someone on my flist pointed out I apparently collect hot, young teenage boys.
