I'm back, alive and whole, which is a trend I love coming from vacations. :)

I had a lovely time and saw beautiful places. Man, Aruba! That's the place to live. Mark my words, I'm going to retire there.

I saw dolphins at the sea! Like, we had a little window in our cabin that I made my reading nook because I'm a nerd that spend most of her time reading \o/ and I looked out and hey, dolphins! They followed the ship just a few minutes but it was beyond awesome.

I missed you so, so much! How have you been? I'm going to try to catch up – I already did with some verses I'm following (see me being a nerd ^^) but it's a slow process. ^^ Tell me what you've been up to!

I cannot believe I missed prompting for hp_creatures and hd_fanart. I was so sure I had a day or two after I came back or else I'd left my prompts to be prompted by proxy as I've done in the past. :((((( But I'm excited because there are super cool prompts.

And hd_erised sign-ups open next Friday! Yep, that Friday 28th. ;) ;) ;) It's going to be a blast this year, and I hope to see you there. <3

You know, for someone who barely knows how to put a bit of blush and lipgloss I sure pack a big bag of makeup.

I do this to myself every single time. I'm going on a cruise, when am I even going to wear all this makeup - under the assumption in the next day and a half I even learn how to apply it, is a mystery. But I gotta take it.

I'm off! Well, first shower, then finish packing (surely I need some jumpers, right?) then dinner, then a nap, but then I'm off.

Finally uploaded my new layout for DW. Check it out: capitu. I think like it. :) I sort of had it for ages but it needed some edits here and there, plus I'm fond of my LJ layout so then I figured, I could totally use it for DW. I'm not sure I'm going to get used to it, but for now, hey. Plus, I'm having a horrible week and at least I have this going for me, new fancy layout. ^^

So I had the best birthday. :D I'm going to skip the whole bit where I tell you how depressed and stressed I've been because my kitchen is still not ready. I'm going to skip right over it and tell you how I woke up on Sunday, being away for the weekend, to livejournal notifications telling me how I have the most amazing friends in the history of ever.

I'm not going to even try to pretend I'm embarrassed by the amount of hung!fic and art I got. I'm just going to revel in the fact that my flist knows me so well and roll in that love. *rolls in it*

Seriously, you guys are amazing. I wasn't expecting this. I've had a couple of hard weeks and I honestly wasn't expecting this. Waking up, logging in and see so many messages and posts and gifts it was—I almost have no words, only I have all the words and you're probably tired to hearing but I can't help myself. You guys mean so much to me. You probably think it's just a thing I say, but you have no idea how my life is so much richer and better because you're all part of it.

Today I realised I actually stopped smoking! \o/ This is so super! Like, today I thought how it's been weeks since my last cigarette (because I totally fell off and smoked since I first decided to quit) and for the last week or so I haven't thought of buying one more, or how much I miss that first drag of the day and things, which I know sounds disgusting to people who doesn't smoke but those who do (or did) know what I'm talking about. ^^ So yay!

I meant to make myself some ~sexy Next Gen icons, but boy, sometimes finding the right image is hard. Also very distracting. Like, you're looking for a "Scorpius" and next thing you know you're in YouTube watching a puppy taking his first bubble bath. Seriously, how did that happen? :D

Anyway, so I decided to go with minimalist. Much easier to achieve. ^^

They didn't turn out all bad, I thought, so I ended up making all Next Gen characters icons. They are basically like this icon *points to icon* with different (and random) colour schemes. I figured I could share them in case someone, you know, wants them. :)

Today gracerene posted the the last instalment in her 50 Reasons to Have Sex Series (or here at AO3) and in a way it almost feels like the end of an era.

First off, I cannot believe how naughty she is! :D I think of Grace, super organised and efficient and she's written some of the dirtiest stuff ever. *glee* I remember back when Grace mentioned she had this idea for a series two years ago, and I offered, in case she needed an extra pair of eyes, to Alpha read for her. She took me on that offer and from then on it's been a journey.

I've pre-read 90/95% of the Reasons – she did manage to surprise me a couple of times when she wrote me a reason for my birthday and then again after I was sick – and I've loved being part of this.

I'm so proud of having been there to see her do this. I've seen her grow as a writer; trying different pairs, she's such a prolific and diverse writer. I've seen her challenge herself and write angsty stuff, funny stuff, epic stories, and always with a touch of absolute filth in the best ways.

I'm thrilled she ~finished this chapter in her writer life. There's the tiniest bit of bittersweetness, because I will miss the series and the regular posts with Reasons so damn much, but it's mostly pride and happiness because OH MY GOD, she gave us so much happy times with each post. I mean, there have been 50 Reasons to Have Sex posts!

Of course, I don't mean literally finished this chapter, because in case you missed it, she has a post up asking for people to prompt her a new reason or request to continue certain reasons. It's right over HERE. :D

gracerene, congratulations, lovely! Thank you for letting me part of this. I know it all started as fun, but the friendship all the Reasons gave us, is one of the greatest gifts. <3

I've been meaning to make a rec post for ages. I have a bunch of stories I've been wanting to rec for, god, weeks, months, even. ^^ So I decided to sort of sort them out by character, because it's more fun if I give myself extra work, also so I can keep posting them. :D

So, I'm offering you some recs featuring one Scorpius Hyperion Malfoy, according to HPwikia (do we even know if wikia is that reliable? At any rate, I like the ring of it, so I'm totally headcanon-ing the Hyperion).

Beta reading and Alpha reading for me is one of the most fulfilling things I can do.

When I alpha/beta read a story I give my everything. I try and do my best to make that story the best it can be. I love giving feedback to the author, help them in the parts they are having difficulty, give suggestions, even if those only serve for the author to realise they want to do something else, polish any little typo or mistake that went past the author, flail and get silly and excited in the parts I loved the most.

Beta reading takes time and effort, but in my experience 100% of the time the author is absolutely thrilled and thankful you're dedicating your time to work with them and help them.

Beta reading is a bit like being the magic behind the magic. And the end of the day, there are few things better than knowing you were there for someone when they needed, that you helped an author to work on something they can be proud and happy with, and often times it's the beginning a beautiful friendship.
