*something clever goes here*
Is it too soon for me to talk you some more about
hd_erised again and how the sign ups open on August 1st?
Yeah? Well, okay.
I'll just talk to you about mirrors and how they freak me out.
I always clean the mirrors as fast as I can because I'm afraid the mirror is going to look at me. You know, like "Yeah, I'm not just a reflexion, I'm LOOKING at you." Mirrors are freaky.
But you know what's not freaky? The Mirror of Erised. :D But I said I wouldn't mention
hd_erised again (and how the sign ups open August 1st).
But I will remind you that claliming is open at
hp_crossgenfest. :D

Mirrors are awesome as far as fodder for my horror imagination. XD I don't think I'll be signing up for erised because my muse isn't functioning on demand atm, but I'm looking forward to seeing who does sign up for it.

Mirrors are freaky, they are. *nods* I look at them, but I always get this feeling that if I look too long something is going to happen and that person is going to look at me. Great stuff for horror though!
Awww, come on! There's still time to think about it. And you know, it's 1,500 words min and you have until Nov to finish! :D

Now I want to see Gay of Thrones! :D
Mirrors (or any reflection) are creepy! They steal your soul, you know? At least that's what my grandmother would say.
And even though I don't believe it, this photo is real.
The official explanation is the boy blinked when the picture was taken, but as you can see his reflection does not show any closed eyes. Basically, it’s because this particular digital camera scans and records images from left to right.

And Gay of Throes seems like it is super. I saw it twice, in two different sites. No, don't ask! :D
Oh my god, that pic. :O An explanation as any, doesn't make it less creepy.
No one told me mirrors steal your soul (thanks for that btw! LOL), but still, there's something creepy about them. Maybe, omg, lost souls are there trying to come out. Geez!

Then again, my mother's family practiced brujeria and that's some crazy shit right there.

Scary stuff.

And Yay for signups on August 1...although boo that I'll already be at work *sobs like a baby and plans*
I'm not fond of mirrors, but more because I look in them and go "who is that old woman?" :P
*adores*
Oh and your subject line is the best!!! ♥

Plot woman, plot! <3 You can do it!
Yes, subject line is simple and to the point. :D

I'll tell you what's scary. DOLLS. DOLLS WITH EMPTY EYE SOCKETS. OR DOLLS WITH NOT EMPTY EYE SOCKETS. Creepy and horrifying. OK, imagine if you looked in the mirror and A DOLL WITH EMPTY EYE SOCKETS WAS LOOKING BACK AT YOU?

What's a doll going to do? They're small and made of plastic.
I loved dolls! In fact, I used to erase their eyebrows (with nail polish remover) and do them over. Okay, those dolls were scary, but I loved them! I also painted their nails and gave them haircuts and generally was the NIGHTMARE of Toy's Story.

OMG, capitu, tell me something only I would know! is that really you, or is it a doll that possessed you while you were asleep? O___O

OR IS IT?

but listen, I'm not talking to you any more until I can find out if you are actually a spooky no-eyed doll monster, or capitu.
I'm going to have to think of a test for you.

And you have to do erised! :D *prods*
Gay of Thrones. Actually, that's just a gay porn movie inspired by the series. Kind of like that Harry/Draco porn movie from a while back.
In fact, here are snapshots of the add. Not Safe For Work AT ALL:

hd_erised is very tempting, but I'm so afraid of disappointing the one I would be writing for. Or, worse, not being able to come up with an idea at all. And, more worse, having everyone thinking: God, awful, why didn't she leave the spot for someone else who knows what he's doing?
I like the way mirrors have been inspiring authors until today. Think of the talking mirror in Snowwhite... They can be used for so many (magical) tasks one otherwise would need muggle devices for.
And yes, terrible things can live inside / on the other side of them. Like the ever darkening shadows under my eyes or the three or four grey hairs that always seem to stuck up like a cockatoo's head-feathers.
Btw: Isn't that one of the great miracles of life? Why do grey hairs have so much more energy than their coloured colleagues?
*ponders and chews pencil*

The Gay of Thrones I saw was... well. See comment above. (There are pictures!) :D
I understand that exchange fests can be a bit intimidating, but in reality they don't have to be quite so. You're doing something for someone, yeah? And that person is going to love what you did for them just as you'll love what someone did for you, and having fun in the process. It's stressing, but it can be amazing fun, is all I'm saying. <3
As for the grey hair, yeah, yeah! What's up with that? I wish all the hairs were that resistant! lol
