A letter to mah Birds. <3

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BIRDS!!!!!!

This, this is the little thing I "wrote" that a friend *coughs [livejournal.com profile] lumosed_quill coughs* corrected and now is much better (it is). I hope you don't mind that I borrowed some of your own words.

Here we go. Oh, I'm kind of nervous now. :D

Okay!

*clears throat*

Dear [livejournal.com profile] birdsofshore,

Be Prepared, because I'm feeling This Monstrous Need to tell you a few things.

You see, when I read that first story by you, I discovered Unknown Pleasures. I couldn't stop there; I felt This Unstoppable Thirst for more, and the more I read it was as if Riches Ready to Drop Upon Me were already falling.

Loving Harry Potter and discovering What Potter Wants through your eyes was like someone Turning the Tables on me. Nothing was ever the same.

From then on I was like a hound on a fox, following A Princely Scent, even ignoring The Joys of Nature (and on more than one occasion telling the bf "I Shall Not Speak" until I finish this story), for one more taste of your Honey.

I've been Living Deep in these stories you create, sometimes Checking Out the Opposition, granted, but always coming back for more.

You take me to new heights, as if in a Hairway to Heaven, waiting for A Divine Intemperance that I know is coming. You make me forget the world around me. I could be In the Company of a Rubber Duck, or in the middle of Eight Birthdays. I could even think There are Death Eaters Under the Bed! But I'd simply Surrender, in its Place and happily die Hungry as long as I'd never have to leave your writing.

Sometimes At Dawn when it's all silence around me, just like After Hours at the Ministry of Magic, I close my eyes and Remember, Remember that first story that brought you to my life, and I am happy as a child that belongs in Luna Lovegood's Noisy Nifflers Nursery School. But reading again The Twelve Days of Draco – more than a ritual, a Capriccio – is once again falling in love with your words.

Your stories are Rarely Pure and Never Simple, and I hope you never change, because if there is a Recipe for a Contented Reader, you my friend, are cooking with it.

You'll have to forgive me, dearest, because even The Best Laid Plans of Hufflepuffs, when left Unguarded, are just too silly. But know this came from my heart, with the sweetest inspiration a person can have.

All my love,

OMG, what did you do? LOLOLOL this is incredible! LJ finally decided to start doing pingbacks, so my phone just went fucking berserk pinging me 15 times or something, LOL. You're insane and wonderful and, really, such a darling, and so clever and funny. I don't know how you even thought of it, let alone DID it and made it actually make sense and be so sweet.

And part of me is going, OMG, some of those stories are terrible, I have to get them off my masterlist right now so no-one sees hahahahahhahahahaha :D

I have to go out. But I'll be back to glomp you fully later, you crazy, perfect fool ♥ ♥

I'm sorry, it took me this long to come back and finish all the things I wanted to say. I can't imagine how long this must have taken, and even if you say it wasn't hard, I still think it's genius. IT REALLY IS SWEET AND FUNNY \O/ It's like, you wrote me a love letter made out of my own fics. O_O You're amazing!

Not to mention, sneaky. When you told me you were writing something, I never dreamt it was THIS. You're showing a touch of the Slytherin, there, madam ;-)

There are so many funny and perfect bits in it... but the bit that really made me laugh the hardest was I've been LIVING DEEP in these stories you create, sometimes CHECKING OUT THE OPPOSITION, granted, but always coming back for more.

LOLOL at "checking out the opposition". Because, definitely, all the other H/D writers are my OPPONENTS and I'm trying to WIN :DDD That's how it works. They might try to steal you away from me!

I think the most difficult one that you fitted in really smoothly is I am happy as a child that belongs in LUNA LOVEGOOD'S NOISY NIFFLERS NURSERY SCHOOL.

and the most AWFUL title to fit in ANYWHERE is Hairway to Heaven. In fact, I'm ashamed of myself for writing it, even, and giving you so much trouble ;-)

But as well as funny, and clever, I am so touched by the thoughts behind it and I know you are ridiculous to mean every one, my dear! ♥ I'm so lucky to have you in my life as a reader; to have you as a friend as well is just THE BEST. ♥ ♥
