Wow, it's been two years...
Yesterday
my_drarry_recs was two years old.
I can't believe it, it seems like yesterday; so many stories, so much fun, so many amazing friends made.
And I'm going to get mushy now, and really, you shouldn't be subjected to that without the chance to skip it.
When I started the rec archive two years ago, all I wanted was to share the stories I enjoyed, and do so in a way that was easy to find other stories, older recs, some specific tropes/genres, because I've followed archives in the past that are no longer updated and I remember how much I loved them, how many stories I discovered through them. I hoped that someone, one day, would find the rec archive useful, would find it easy to navigate and most of all would find stories to love.
I never thought it would come true. I mean, I hoped, I hoped people would find it useful and enjoy it. That's the only purpose of a rec, to share a story with someone else.
And wow,
my_drarry_recs is two years old. (can't quite wrap my mind around that one.)
Maintaining the archive takes some time, takes a bit of organisation and dedication. Once in a while I get a message or an email from someone telling me how much they enjoy the archive. People has been incredibly kind to me in telling me good things about it and I'm floored, because even though it was something like a dream of mine that it would happen, I guess I never thought it would, you know? I thought people would enjoy the recs, but I never imagined they would embrace me and made me feel part of something. And I'm incredibly grateful and humbled that you have. Every single comment and message I get, it goes straight to my heart and stays there forever.
And it all happened because of you, because you writers keep sharing these amazing stories with us, you give your time, your effort, your talent to share something with us, and today, as every day, I thank you for that.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. Thank you for keeping the magic alive. <3

Your recs are so precious and delightful, and it's a treasure chamber for everyone in this fandom looking for a good read.
I remember when I started writing drarry fics and I was so worried about my not-very-good-English, how you encouraged me to keep on writing. Here I am, still struggling with the language, but still writing. Thank you for your support - and not just for me, but for everyone who's writing wonderful stories, reading them, and keeping the fandom alive <3

I know I've gone on about your tagging system before, but it really bears repeating because it's a thing of beauty and wonder. I'm so grateful that you take the time and put in all the effort to maintain it because it's such a wonderful resource for the fandom as a whole. I can't count how many times I've thought to myself, "Oh, I'm in the mood to read this particular trope/genre/etc" and took a browse through your tags to find something to read. Or wanted to read a specific fic but couldn't remember anything more about it than it had to do with Aurors, and so looked through your Aurors tag, and there it was! And I'm always, always deeply flattered when I find that you've added my fics to your archive.
You're a lovely person. I'm glad we're friends.

I think I've said this before but I don't think I can say it enough - I love your recs, the notes you write for every fic make me even more excited to go and read it. I've discovered so many of my favorite authors and stories through your recs!
Thank you so much for my_drarry_recs! *hugs*

I was amazed to learn English is not your first language either; it's really, really good, and I'm glad you keep writing and sharing your stories. *hugs*
Thank you!

I admit I like the tags. I've often wanted to add a few more, but that means revising over 1,000 fics to see if they fit. One day I might though! But I'm happy as it is, and beyond happy you find it useful. <3
